At the Visiting Nurse Association of Boston our mission goes beyond caring for patients in their homes, we are also committed to maintaining a healthy community. To that end, we have implemented a Community Outreach Program. Our community outreach nurses host free blood pressure clinics at over 40 different sites including elder care homes, senior living facilities, and retail locations such as Brooks, CVS, Walgreens and the Shaws Supermarkets in order to promote health awareness within the local population.
Through the Community Outreach Program, the VNA of Boston has forged partnerships with local Department of Public Health offices, elder care facilities and nursing homes to bring added preventative health services to local residents.
In conjunction with the facilities listed above, the corporate outreach nurses provide flu immunization clinics to the elderly and high-risk populations during the flu season. The VNA of Boston is also able to offer pneumococcal vaccinations to those at risk.
Please contact the Wellness Department at (617) 886-6462 or wellness@vnab.org if you would like to set up a monthly community services clinic in your organization.
